Our Environment and Climate Resilience program strengthens community resilience by restoring degraded ecosystems, promoting sustainable land use, and building climate-smart livelihoods. Through tree planting, agroforestry, biodiversity protection, and community education, we help vulnerable households protect their environment while improving food security and long-term wellbeing.
Across Uganda, climate change continues to threaten the stability of rural communities—reducing harvests, accelerating soil degradation, and increasing the frequency of droughts and floods. For families whose survival depends on agriculture, the loss of natural resources is becoming a growing humanitarian concern.
Needs Based Response Uganda (NBRU) established the Environment and Climate Resilience Program to address this challenge by restoring ecosystems, promoting climate-resilient practices, and empowering communities to become active stewards of their environment.
